Another in the occasional series made possible due to the wonderful exploits by some wonderful YouTube Up-loaders. I want to highlight some of those bands that John Peel had recorded sessions for his show over the years
Prior to having their big break-through with ‘Dare’, The Human League was a different animal. Four lads from Sheffield that struggled to make ends meet even though they were critically acclaimed by the press. The general public just weren’t that interested. A real pity really as this was for me their most inspirational time producing two superb albums in the shape of ‘Reproduction’ and ‘Travelogue’. A split in the ranks led to The Human League (Mark II) and Heaven 17 emerging from the ashes. But here on this John Peel session you can really hear the real McCoy. Pay particular attention to their cover version of the timeless ‘You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling’.
