LCFC – Premiership Season Kicks Off Today

I’ve been waiting a long time for this to happen again, but today my beloved Leicester City start the new season once again in the top division, the Premiership. It’s all the better that we start with a home match against Everton, whom we played recently in Thailand. Though that result is of little consequence it did show where were at and our frailties too. Even with the financial clout of our owners who are the people behind the King Power empire our manager, Nigel Pearson, hasn’t really spent that much yet. I do though trust his judgement and I’m sure our squad will be strengthened when required and the current squad is maturing all the time too.

Hopefully by tea time I will be smiling still, though either way this is going to be a long season with a difficult start too. In the next few weeks we are pitted against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and a hard match away to Stoke City. Some pundits are predicting if we get to the end of September with any points it will be a result. I have faith that won’t be the case and we’ll surprise a few established sides in the process. On looking at the fixture list the good thing is we have a good run in with no matches against the ‘top teams’. So overall I believe this can be a good season for Leicester City to bed itself in this league. Come on you Blues!
