Peel Sessions : New Order

Another in the occasional series made possible due to the wonderful exploits by some wonderful YouTube Up-loaders. I want to highlight some of those bands that John Peel had recorded sessions for his show over the years

They rose from the ashes of Joy Division and surpassed everyone’s expectations bagging along the way the biggest selling 12″ single of all time with ‘Blue Monday‘. Any event by New Order always manages to cause a stir, even today. In the beginning they didn’t really promote themselves that extensively via gigs and radio sessions compared to their counterparts. They relied on their name and the quality of their music. This particular session dates back to 1998 and covers songs from their previous incarnation and some of their best known tunes. Sadly these days there is a rift with the original members which is a real shame as together they were something special and you can’t say that of most bands.

24 November 1998 : Isolation – Touched By The Hand Of God – True Faith – Paradise – Atmosphere.
