Just down the road from me are some truly picturesque villages like Apethorpe that boasts a lovely Hall (currently under repair) with its truly outstanding surrounding Northants countryside. Sadly just a few miles away there are plans to build a nuclear waste site. Often I walk around here as you are usually able to see so loads of wildlife. Be it one of those magnificent soaring Red Kites who seem abundant or even a fragile little Orange Tip Butterfly. Add to this some really warm weather and it’s ideal for a good old Sunday stroll ending up at the friendly Kings Head public house. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to public footpaths around Apethorpe. One was even re-routed by a land owner as it went straight through his front yard so to speak. Oh the property belongs to none other than Rowan Atkinson!
