Impending Sounds : Andrew Judah – Somebody Loves You

Having really enjoyed his album ‘Albino Black Bear‘ the very talented Andrew Judah releases an EP entitled ‘Somebody Loves You‘. After hearing the four tracks I’m sure plenty will like him. The boisterous instrumental ‘Find Them‘ marches out of your speakers only to suddenly retreats leaving what can only be described as a lullaby. Normal service soon resumes to its climatic finish. The stand out track is up next ‘Let It Go‘ demonstrates what a wonderful voice Andrew possesses. It’s relentless vocal repeat of the title actually enhances the sound. Whilst on ‘Ascension‘ we get hear what a good guitar player he is too. Add to that some very well mixed drumming making this a second classy instrumental. The final track ‘The Way You Know I Am‘ uses the acoustic guitar to great effect along with an almost military drum sound that intertwines seamlessly up to when the vocals emerge.  There’s a false ending which develops into a beautiful passage of music. On further reading these are just some of the material he wrote for film and television. So if any budding film makers want some ready-made decent music you may have landed on a goldmine.  Hopefully a full-blown album won’t be too far away. 9/10 Canadian genius.
