Hidden Gems : Inspiral Carpets – Commercial Rain

Today I thought I’d mention a great b-side song by Oldham’s The Inspiral Carpets which sounded even better live. This for me captured the moment of the baggy trousered indie dance craze that became known as ‘Madchester‘ sound at the beginning of the 90’s. Trance like beat and Clint Boon‘s Hammond organ sound worked so well together. For me the band never bettered this song and try as you may you can’t help but tap your feet to it. I’ve included both the studio and live versions as they both give something.

So what do you think about this track then?
