Hidden Gems : The 4 Of Us – Mary

Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits or excellent album tracks). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Soundcloud or other sites. These posts are for the music only.

Today I would like you to have a listen to a great tune entitled ‘Mary‘ by the Northern Ireland band The 4 Of Us. It’s taken from their debut album ‘Songs For The Tempted‘ which was released back in 1989. You can hear all of it below, check out ‘Drag My Bad Name Down‘ and listen to the superb vocals from Brendan Murphy. If you have to compare them, then try Primal Scream, in their more rocky mode. Sometimes we need these uplifting songs to brighten up our day. Their second album ‘Man Alive‘ is a more mature affair that shows off their writing skills, in particular listen to ‘I Miss You‘.

So should this have been a hit then?
