Hidden Gems : Echo & The Bunnymen – Killing Moon (All Night)

I can hear you say how can this be a hidden gem, well today I want to bring your attention to the extended ‘All Night’ version that’s a masterpiece in Echo & The Bunnymen’s career. The orchestration is phenomenal and I wish more artists would use classical instruments within their music. In fact the album ‘Ocean Rain‘ uses quite a lot of classical instrumentation. The tour had those iconic gigs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon, afternoon and evening.  Then a few years back they played with a string section at the Royal Albert Hall, London, the complete album. I was lucky enough to attend all these concerts. Check out also ‘Silver‘ extended ‘Tidal’ version, another cool piece of music.

Interestingly Ian McCulloch is releasing a single for Record Store Day 2013, which is a vinyl live version of ‘The Killing Moon‘, orchestrated too.
