Peel Sessions : Dr Feelgood

Continuing in this occasional series made possible due to the wonderful exploits by some wonderful You-Tube Up-loaders. I want to highlight some of those bands that John Peel had recorded sessions for his show over the years.

Today I thought I’d highlight a band that arrived from the shores of Canvey Island just before the advent of punk in the UK. Dr Feelgood had their own style though and their live shows became legendary. These were enhanced by those great stage antics of Wilko Johnson who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. Whilst on vocals we had the king of the pub rock singers in the shape of Lee Brilleaux.
