Well I have another band which got my attention of late and they were Mashemon from Merseyside. Their brand of electronic rock is very accessible and is ideal for daytime radio play and should not resigned to those later slots afforded the usual non-commercial output. They have released a couple of albums with 2010’s ‘Removal Music‘ and the following years ‘Singles 2011‘. Add to that the impressive ‘Kompressor‘ EP they have an excellent footing. Well the trio have a good lead singer in the shape of Ronny Kong and catchy tunes to boot too.
What they do have is someone who’s also very good at the artwork which stands out from the crowd too. This is very visible on their Facebook and Twitter feeds too. But it’s the music where the real gems are as I could have highlighted any number of their catalogue. In 2012 they did release another good single called ‘Guts‘. So being off work ill and stuck in bed has given me time to search out more by them including listening to tracks like ‘Lips Limbs Lungs‘, ‘Curtains‘, ‘Facts‘ and the catchy ‘Awful Something‘.
I’ll be looking forward to see what 2013 has for this band and with the release of ‘Various Propositions’ EP it should be quite eventful. True enough that will depend on airplay around the country, press inches and performing in a venue near you. Maybe OMD who are on tour soon might look in their direction for a support act maybe? The old order helping the new order so to speak. Please check out their music, a lot of it is still free to download, so don’t sit around.
