Well it’s finally come, I’ve reached half a century and managed to survive countless ‘End of The World‘ predictions. Yes it’s been a long haul, but I doubt I’d change much. Well maybe a few things but that’s private. I’ve got my kids with me this Christmas so that’s made it special for me too. They tucked up in bed now, and I’ll be off to bed soon too.
People do keep saying ‘Aww I bet you get double the presents‘. Well when I was young I used to be given my Christmas presents in the morning with the rest of the family and in the evening I got my birthday pressies. By the time I was in my teens the presents seemed to merge. When I had kids of my own my birthday was an after thought. Christmas is for children though. I do still love to see their smiles when they clap eyes on their presents, first thing in the morning.
Well I’d best go as I need to get up early as I will be cooking the festive dinner. I hope my 71-year-old mother remembers to wrap me up a box of Maltesers. It has become a bit of a tradition over the years, she did forget last year! Thank you for putting up with me and have a Merry Christmas!
