Hidden Gems : Slab! – Parallax Avenue

Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Daily Motion, Soundcloud or another site. These posts are for the music only.

Today I have chosen a track that I used to play relentlessly back in 1987 by Slab! with its haunting bass driving the song along. With this it had a great brass riff which went down well at my Indie discos back in Rugby, maybe as the band only came from down the road, Leamington Spa. The extended version is the only one you should consider, as this was a truly massive improvement on the seven-inch single. They did release other tracks like ‘Smoke Rings‘ and ‘Death’s Head Soup‘, but none reached the same intensity as my selected track.

So should this have been a hit or a miss?
