For once I have to agree with the music industry as a website called Redigi’s in the United States of America is re-selling your unwanted MP3’s. This does seem a little strange to me as the company says they only accept legitimate recordings. Well any fool can get round that one. They say they add some software to your computer, something I’d not be happy about in the first place. This then scans it and only allows legal downloads to be bought by them. I’m sure somescammers could benefit from this at their expense too!
Well all you have to do is save a copy on an external device, burn onto a disc and you still have a copy and then once sold just load them back on. So you have sold an item and still have the recording. Unlike CD, cassettes and vinyl which are all physical you are giving someone an actual item. Whereas the download is just one’s and zero’s basically. So EMI have taken them to a US court to stop them trading in their current format. What do you think?
