DVD Screenings – Last Shop Standing

As you may have read on a previous posting of mine ‘Last Shop Standing‘ is a DVD film about some of the last remaining record shops in the United Kingdom. I’m sure the demise of them is also true in other countries too. Based on the book by Graham Jones, ‘Last Shop Standing‘ the DVD is to be released to the public on 10 September 2012. Have you ordered your copy yet? If not do so now!To tie in with this release, Graham has organised some screenings and then have a question and answer session. These events are constantly being added to so please keep checking the website for an update. To me it now seems strange to see no independent record shops, Woolworth, John Menzies, Our Price, Virgin, Tower and even some W.H. Smiths without a music section. But those remaining shops now are like a goldmine for fellow music fans. You just can’t beat the noise, the banter and most of all discovering a new piece of music recommended by another enthusiast in them.

Hi Stevo, it’s James from James Clarke Five here (former Cherry Boy). Just to let you know that there’s a JC5 song featured in the Last Shop Standing film, called Sexbombe Über Alles. You can hear it twice in the film, including over the closing credits. Sexbombe is just about to be released as a download single, on 16th September – you’ll find it on Amazon. And there’s a new JC5 album in the pipeline. Cheers mate. J

So what do you think then ....
