Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Daily Motion, Soundcloud or another site. These posts are for the music only.
Fronted by Kirk Brandon, Spear Of Destiny, were the nearly band which formed from the ashes of Theatre Of Hate. Though over the years the band’s name has reverted between both names. This track and ‘Come Back‘ were both destined for the top 40 so CBS records believed and put alot of effort in helping this. But for some odd reason the general public didn’t catch on, though their album ‘World Service‘ did make the Top 20. It wasn’t until a change of label did they actually score a hit with ‘Never Take Me Alive‘, though many fans bought it for the B-side ‘Land of Shame‘. Live they were electric, so much energy yet could also be melodic in the shape of ‘Mickey‘. Check out the double CD ‘Singles 83 to 88’ a worthwhile purchase plus they are still touring.
