Hailing from Chester and the Merseyside area The Fifth Movement are a collective of musicians who have recently caught my eye. Firstly as they do remind me of sixties band The Left Banke, whom I rate very highly. I’ve even suggested to both parties they could tour together in UK. The band is a nucleus of five members Luke Moore, Kevin Critchley, Alex Williams, Josie Forsey and Graeme Runeckles. This though is expanded when playing live, recruiting friends who when are all together could resemble as a mini orchestra.
Now the person who devised the video below came to the same conclusion as myself and that is their music could fit snugly into being used as a film theme. But let’s not pigeon hole them just yet as they do have alot more to offer us. I will hopefully be able to see them live in the near future as they do perform regularly. Earlier this year they issued the EP ‘The Brewing Storm‘ which included the wonderful ‘Unravel‘, the track which alerted me to them when played on the BBC Radio Liverpool Dave Monks show. So please do check them out as the latest EP ‘Tough To Be In Love‘ is an encapsulating body of music. As one of their songs lyrically stated “let’s move forward together and not backwards“.
