Donna Summer – Life’s Unkind!

Few artists are iconic but if you mention the world ‘Disco’ and the name that always comes to mind for me is Donna Summer. So again I’m writing about another departed superstar who’s just lost her battle with cancer. How can anyone forget when her chart topping song ‘I Feel Love‘ written and produced by Giorgio Moroder that changed the dance-floor forever. The thing was she had a really good voice too, that was overshadowed by that particular song which used minimal vocals. Whereas such songs as the covers of ‘State of ‘Independence‘, ‘MacArthur Park‘ and her debut  single ‘Love To Love You, Baby‘. She’s been around the block and was certainly ‘Hot Stuff‘ for a period up to the mid 80’s. The lady certainly worked with some of the best producers around as she built up a very impressive catalogue, which I’m sure the record companies will now capitalise on her untimely demise.
