Hidden Gems : Ultravox! – The Quiet Men

Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Daily Motion, Soundcloud or another site. These posts are for the music only.

Before ‘Vienna‘ and Midge Ure, the band Ultravox released a series of singles and three awesome albums and were fronted by John Foxx. They were a pioneering band then with the likes of Gary Numan citing them as his main influence. The band shifted from style of music always pushing the boundaries and as a result we had some classic songs all well below the radar of daytime radio. Take for example ‘Slow Motion‘, ‘Hiroshima Mon Amour‘, ‘The Man Who Dies Everyday‘ and the brash ‘Young Savage‘. Only now are bands of today starting to explore this mainly ignored catalogue of work. With the great man himself again releasing new tunes yearly there’s a plethora of material to listen to.

So should this have been a hit or a miss?
