Hidden Gems : Red Guitars – Good Technology

Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Daily Motion, Soundcloud or another site. These posts are for the music only.

This single was a monster seller in the Indie charts but never crossed over to the national charts, John Peel loved them as I did. The Red Guitars hailed from Hull and supported The Smiths releasing the single on their own Self Drive label. Subsequent singles like ‘Fact‘ and ‘Marimba Jive‘ furthered their status with Virgin records signing them up and releasing a second album. But yet again a major label failed to handle such a hot property and mis-marketed them into a concept they wasn’t. Though if you want a piece of pure music then go purchase the Slow To Fade album.

So should it have been a hit or a miss?
