Continuing this very popular viewed series of Hidden Gems (tracks which should have been hits). I’ll present you a track via YouTube, Daily Motion, Soundcloud or another site. These posts are for the music only.
This certainly did pre-date The Smiths and weren’t as miserable either. I still love the cover which reminds me of The Bash Street Kids graphics from The Beano. The extended version on WAAP records is actually much better. Then I think they released ‘More Than A Dream‘ on Backs Records (another East Anglian label) before being snapped up by E.M.I. Records. They did release some other cool records like ‘Whatever Is He Like?’ and even did a Cliff Richard cover ‘In The Country‘ their biggest almost hit. Still they made music fun which is the main thing. At the time there was a buzz in the Norwich region championed by John Peel with the likes of The Higsons and The Farmers Boys.
So should it have been a hit or a miss?
