So he’s finally returned after protracted talks with the owners of Hull City, we finally got our man. Nigel Pearson left our club at the end of 2009-10 season, after guiding us to the play-off semi finals. The previous season he’d collected the League One trophy at the first time of asking. Only for him to leave when the then people in charge seemed not to be too bothered about keeping him at the club.
Why you may ask, why I ask too – Certainly the chairman at the time Milan Mandaric wanted a high-profile manager in charge so he could sell the club on. He did both, brought in Paolo Sousa who was sacked promptly by the new Thai owners to be replaced by Sven Goran Eriksson. That didn’t work out either, he said alot but didn’t deliver when it counted.
Now we have back at Leicester City the level-headed man and someone I actually like. I do wish he’d cheer up when he conducts a press interview. No matter the result we get the same tone and laid back sound from him. He is a man manager and I think our club with quite a few so-called star players need this to bring them back down to earth. So as they say it’s onwards and upwards – next up Crystal Palace at the King Power on Sunday. Good luck Nigel!
