Being an England fan my actual watching of the event faltered at the Quater-Finals along with the majority of the country. But saying that I did watch Wales gallant effort against France in the semi’s. What did annoy me was the scheduling of the 3rd/4th place match on a Friday night (morning here in the UK). Don’t they know most people work at that time? Saturday was a free day as the Final is today (Sunday).
Overall the New Zealand people can be commended on the finals and how it was organised. Good pitches, great crowds and most very knowledgeable too. There was the fun factor of fans dressing up but today it’s down to 30 players on the pitch chasing after the Webb Ellis trophy (named after the boy who invented the sport in my old town of Rugby).
Personally I’d like to see New Zealand win it, being part of the Commonwealth and also they are the only team not to have lost a match yet. France did loss two in the group stage and still qualified! More so I hope it’s a good game to round off the tournament. May the best team win!
