It was a great day to see SKY/ESPN beaten in the European courts, taken their by a publican from Portsmouth. Why? because they charge too much for the right to show Premier League football in a public place. Infact they charge everyone too much for what was once free to air on BBC or ITV. Now with this change it means we could possibly all get cheaper sporting events and films which are currently so expensive. Alternately you could always now go out and purchase a foreign decoder and watch football now for alot less. As always there are some loopholes that the Premier League and Sky/ESPN could explore, no doubt they will try.
We don’t have SKY or wish too, but I do have a Freesat box, so soon maybe I’ll be able to get a card for other European countries feeds. Mind you the thought of watching the latest blockbuster movie dubbed in Croatian probably won’t appeal to me! I remember years ago when I did invest in Murdock’s channels if you phoned them it would be to a premium phone number! So to me they’ve always been greedy, but now it’s back fired on them and rightly so.
As Wolfie (famed Tooting Popular Front activist) once said “Power To The People”!
